REDICO is excited to announce an upcoming strategic partnership with Detroit-based developer, The Platform. In the coming weeks. REDICO will assume asset management responsibility for The Platform’s portfolio of office and residential properties. The properties will significantly expand REDICO’s 55-year history in the city of Detroit, which includes ownership and management of such iconic buildings as 150 West Jefferson and One Kennedy Square.
The Platform has built a legacy of renovation and growth that has positively altered the reputation of the city of Detroit on a national scale. Dedicated to quality residential and commercial developments, The Platform has concentrated efforts in New Center and surrounding neighborhoods to serve as a catalyst for additional development.
“Since our founding in 2016, The Platform has been a small company making a big impact in New Center,” said Peter Cummings, executive chairman and CEO of The Platform. “REDICO is the ideal partner to continue the work we’ve started and steward our properties into the future.”
The Platform and REDICO share a long history. Since 2016, REDICO has provided property management to The Platform’s office buildings and was one of the original investment partners in the Fisher Building.
As part of the partnership agreement, The Platform property ownership is not affected. REDICO will be responsible for asset management and other property-related services. Clarke Lewis, president of The Platform, will join REDICO and oversee The Platform assets. These include the continued rejuvenation of the Fisher Building and uninterrupted redevelopment of Piquette Flats, a former Studebaker facility being converted into workforce housing, with an opening planned for Fall 2024.
“We are thrilled with this new alliance with The Platform, and I am proud to continue Peter’s considerable contributions to the city, specifically the transformation of the New Center area,” said CEO Dale Watchowski.
