REDICO is honored to announce that two of our properties, the senior living communities of American House Village at Bloomfield and American House Park Place, have been voted Best of Senior Care 2023 by Hour Detroit Magazine.
Our newest property, the beautiful American House Village at Bloomfield, is nestled within views of idyllic wetlands and a nearby public golf course, providing residents with a park-like setting. In addition, residents enjoy the exceptional convenience of being within walking distance of a retail district that includes Aldi, HomeGoods, Costco Wholesale, Henry Ford Medical Center and more.
The Village at Bloomfield represented a uniquely complex transaction for REDICO, from acquisition, financing, project scope and governmental interactivity. REDICO purchased the note to the property, as well as foreclosure rights, to develop a mixed-use project. The site straddles the City of Pontiac and Bloomfield Township, which prompted the creation of the Joint Development Council (JDC). Three representatives make up the JDC—a representative from Pontiac, a representative from Bloomfield Twp. and a neutral, third party. REDICO worked closely with the JDC on all aspects of the development. In January 2017, the Oakland County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority approved one of the largest tax-increment financing plans in Michigan history. This decision paved the way for major demolition activities to commence in the spring of 2017. American House Village at Bloomfield opened in the winter of 2022.
American House Park Place combines a warm, comfortable setting with an impressive, sophisticated design that offers architectural details, such as an indoor atrium with a reflection pond and fountain, tiki hut and a cinema-style theater. Private apartments with full kitchens and private patios or balconies, a full-service fitness center and a nature trail contribute to the residents’ vibrant lifestyle.
